As Carmelites we live and share in fraternity the celebration of Ash Wednesday. In a mass officiated by the Carmelite priests, Fr. Miguel Bacigalupo and Fr. Enrique Laguna, they reflected on the meaning and importance of this celebration.
The most significant moment was when they proceeded with the imposition of the cross sign with the ashes on the forehead of all the school personnel, with which we demonstrated our commitment to live Holy Week with devotion, recognizing Jesus as the Son of God and our Savior.
We offer prayer, fasting and charity with which we get closer to God with humility.
The celebration of the Eucharist had a very personal value because it made us commemorate the last supper of Jesus and his apostles; that dinner was when Christ, sharing the bread and wine, gave us his body to eat and his blood to drink.
God bless the Carmelite family and help us prepare for Holy Week, because He said: “This is my beloved Son.”
